Pre-Entry Assessment

Our team spends three days with a young person to assess their needs.

We invite all potential learners and residents to attend a residential three-day assessment. During this time, we are usually able to ascertain our suitability to meet individuals' needs.

Facilitated by our Transitions Co-ordinator, young people stay on-site for two nights and have a timetable that includes attendance in education and training sessions. Parents / carers meet with a House Manager as well as the Head of Education or our Head of Inclusive Lives. Appropriate therapeutic interventions are also assessed at this time by our multi-disciplinary therapeutic team.

A detailed assessment report is then produced which informs our decision on whether an offer of placement can be made.

*Pre-entry assessments of young people under the age of 18 are made by visiting a young person's existing school and/or residential provision.
