Competition time!

Our very own 'Master Chefs'

On Tuesday 17th January Ethan, Zak and Matt took part in the Inclusive 'Life Skills' competition as part of Inspiring Skills Wales which was held at Pembrokeshire College.  All three students looked professional in their chefs' whites and completed the brief in the allocated time.  Ethan, Zak and Matt showed off their knife skills in preparing a cheese sandwich, pointing out hazards in the kitchen and making a deluxe hot chocolate.

Ethan enjoyed meeting everyone and happily congratulated all competitors who took part in the competition.  At the end of the competition each competitior was awarded a framed certificate and an Inspiring Skills T.Shirt.   Well done everyone you were amazing

Meanwhile....

It was touch and go due to the weather as to whether Laurina, Ellie and Matt (who was our reservist ready to jump in if needed) would make it to their Inclusive Food Prep Competition held at Coleg Y Cymoedd, Ystrad Mynach but they did and didn't they do well.

Laurina and Ellie looked like professional chefs working in a catering kitchen as they prepared their cheese and onion sandwhich with side salad, crips and chutney.  The crisps went down well with the judges!!!  They then went on to create a deconstructed Eton Mess show casing their knife, and whisking skills.  Then came the mystery box where the ladies showed their professionalism in peeling and chopping  to create fruit salad for two.    Well done ladies!!!
