01550 760400We recently held our first recruitment open days back in July and have run several dates each month since then. We’ve found some great support workers through these events and would highly recommend booking a visit if you’d like to find out more about what working with us involves.
Our Recruitment Open Day Includes ...
- A tour of our site.
- Shadowing a support worker to see what the role involves.
- Lunch in one of our houses.
- The chance to meet staff, residents, learners, volunteers and animals of all shapes and sizes!
We have also recently announced a £500 joining bonus to attract support staff who join our team between now and October 2021.
The perception of care work can be negative and undoubtedly the publicity around the pressure on care staff during the pandemic hasn’t helped that. But Elidyr Communities Trust is not like other care settings. We’ve a huge vibrant campus, with a mixture of modern houses, ancient buildings, gardens, animals, craft workshops, a shop and a gym. Working with our young people is hard work but it’s never boring!
The £500 joining bonus will be a big financial incentive but there are other benefits to working with us. You don’t need any particular experience, just a caring, practical approach – full training is given. You’ll learn lots of new skills, such as sign language and it’s an excellent stepping stone to other careers in care. We will even feed you during your shift – all meals are included!

It’s life-changing for so many people. The work can be testing, both physically and mentally, but the individual young people make it worthwhile. We like the challenge. We enjoy helping. It’s more than a job.
